This week’s poll features another few moves, including a departure and reentrance. But for the eighth consecutive week, Salisbury (18-0-1) retains the top spot. They are still undefeated, adding wins against Trinity-Pawling and Kent last weekend. Up next are games against Taft, Loomis-Chaffee and Kent.
Rivers (20-1-2) is still right below Salisbury in second place after defeating Groton and Belmont Hill. They will face St. George’s and Roxbury Latin, and will face just one more ranked team the rest of the season. Rivers has suffered just one loss this season, a 4-1 decision to a surging Dexter team.
Milton (13-2-1) moves up a few spots after defeating St. Sebastian’s and Roxbury Latin. The Mustangs, who have not lost since December 16, will face Tabor and Nobles next week.
In fourth place is Dexter (15-4-2), which has been rolling since the return of Jack Rathbone. They’ve lost just one game in 2018, averaging six goals per game over that stretch. Dexter has also scored seven goals in its last three games and in four of its last five.
Kimball Union (19-5-1) drops a couple spots after losing a 4-1 decision to New Hampton. But the Wildcats defeated Holderness and Northfield Mount Herman–and stellar goaltender Eric Green–2-0.
Northfield Mount Hermon (17-3-3) suffers the biggest drop drops after losing a game to Kimball Union. They did beat Vermont Academy and, thanks partly to Eric Green, have just one loss in the past 11 games.
In seventh is Exeter (20-3-1), which won three games last week. But they haven’t been tested much this season, and won’t face the toughest schedule as the season winds down.
Cushing (17-6-1) is in eighth place after earning two wins this week over Tilton and Vermont Academy. While Cushing has won most of its games by a sizeable margin, it has struggled to beat tougher teams.
Winchendon (13-3-3) moves up to the ninth spot after picking up wins over New Hampton and Albany and tying Hoosac. They haven’t lost since January 12 and have suffered just two losses in their last 14 games.
In the last spot is Westminster (12-5-0), which returns to the poll for the first time since week five. After a rough patch of just one win in six games, Westminster has won five in a row and recently picked up wins over Williston and Avon.
Just missing the poll are Gunnery, Lawrence Academy and New Hampton. Lawrence Academy has won seven games in a row. The Huskies are 8-1 in their last nine, including a win over Kimball Union. Gunnery, which has won seven of its last nine, just lost to Millbrook.
